CHRIS RICHTER’s work explores the humanity found in nature and the human impact on nature. Richter terms his creative process as a “deconstructive process of painting” which refers to his continuous method of building up paint layers then sanding down through layers of paint. His painting technique and ultimately his subject matter become a statement about our own personal relationship with the environment. These recent paintings by Richter reference in particular, his personal relationships with nature when among water and trees.
