About

Born: 1958 Northern Ireland, UK
Studied: Royal College of Art, London, UK, Master of Design, Ulster Polytechnic, Northern Ireland, Bachelor of Arts
Currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California

Shortly after graduating from the Royal College of Art in London, Mary Little’s
work entered the permanent collections of the Vitra Design Museum in Basel and
Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. It wasn’t until a few years later after
establishing herself in London, that magazine cover stories describing her first
collection of chairs, “….the quality of which make them appropriate as art
objects…”, that Mary established her reputation as an accomplished artist.
Throughout her career she has created public art works, private commissions
and production design. She moved to San Francisco in 2001 to take up a
teaching position at California College of the Arts (CCA). And now in Los Angeles
her latest work has evolved to become increasingly abstract, exploring themes of
landscape, pattern and repetition.

Her work has been acquired by private collections in Europe and North America,
as well as public collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
Mary Little lives and works in Downtown, Los Angeles.
