Water is a favorite subject matter for Carol Saindon; particularly in her intricate photo collages, which confront and expound on themes about the inherent and natural rhythm of the sea.

Artist Statement:
“For 30 years living near the pacific ocean, my work has been based on both the observation and contemplation of the forces that move the seas. From what is known of the observable universe the massive turbulence taking place in the galaxies and supernovas is witnessed in part on earth in the push and pull of tides and strong weather patterns affecting the oceans. I use a hand held camera to record the sea’ motion on a microcosmic scale, while astronomers photographically record the macrocosm using highly technical methods. The powerful synergism of seas and cosmos has informed my work as seen in installations, drawings and photographs.”

Carol Saindon was recently honored with the Arts Orange County Legacy Award 2018. Saindon has artwork included in Coldwell Banker corporate collection and the Ross and Phyllis Escalate Contemporary Art Collection at Chapman University, Orange CA, among others.
