Ng was born in New York City, NY and raised on the East Coast. When he was a young teenager his family to the Southern California area. He attended the University of Redlands, CA, where he obtained a BFA degree in Painting and Drawing. Ng then relocated to the Midwest where he resided for several years before returning to Southern California to attend graduate school. He received his MFA from California State University, Fullerton in Painting and Drawing.

Ng has taught Art for several years at the University and Community College. Since 1995, he has established a broad range of experience working in the Fine and Decorative Arts, whilst maintaining a full-time studio.

Jon Ng’s work is in private and corporate collections across the United States.

 

Artist Statement

“The process of painting fascinates me. It typically begins with a visual inspiration that evolves in the studio while painting. The goal for me as an artist is in capturing (with line, color and texture) the veritable qualities, as well as the emotional and spiritual essence of my subject.”
