ARTIST RECEPTION: Saturday, September 24th, 4:00 – 6:00pm
‘Ohana is a Hawaiian term relating to the idea of family.
The concept of ‘ohana involves a more profound connection through relationships with others while embracing a sense of love, support, respect, understanding, and devotion to its community. This exhibit is deeply rooted and curated in the spirit of ‘ohana. The artists selected for this exhibit share an aesthetic thread that stitches together the visual landscape of Southern California. Echoing California’s historical contributions of Hard Edge and Geometric Abstraction, Light and Space, and Finish Fetish movements, the work overall references material, process, light, water, culture, and the moment.
